    The Atlanta Simon Scholars Rock!

Just wanted to take a moment to personally thank the administration, staff, and last, but, certainly not least all the students that make up the wonderful Atlanta Simon Scholars program.  We started early at 9am in the morning and went all the way until 10pm at night.

I hope that my story and testimony stays with you when you get to that fork in the road, one way telling you to stay where are you and the other way telling you to reach for your dreams.  Well, you know which way I would tell you to go...toward your dreams!  I achieved all that I ever could ask or believe and guess what...life has more for me and for you too!

Remember to stay humble but remain hungry for your goals and aspirations.  No one gets to the top without stumbling and by making mistakes we find out how to do things right. Someone else's opinion of you does not have to become your reality.  Gear Up for Excellence believes in you, Greg and I believe in you and the Simon Scholars program believes in you so go out and take the world by storm.  You have what it takes.

And to my new friend and mentee Sunny!  It was so great to meet you and you are a very special person.  The words that you shared at the end of my presentation inspired me to continue to do what I love to do and that is to speak to the hearts and minds others and inspire them towards greatness.  Your best days are not behind you Sunny, they are still ahead of you.  Stay on fire toward your goals in life and remember that practice makes progress.  You will get there and I will be cheering you on all the way.

This has been a very moving experience for both of us and this is not good-bye but until the next time we see one another! All the best and be your best!

Thank you S.T.E.M. Summer Bridge Program at Mt. San Jacinto College

Had a great day yesterday speaking and training at Mt. San Jacinto College for the Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics Summer Bridge Program.  Over 100 folks in attendance and delivered my homeless to Harvard keynote address.  It was great to speak one on one with students and advisors after my presentation about how inspired and motivated they were by my comments.  Who would of thought that my days of being homeless and from humble beginnings would help so many people.  I'm a blessed man!

After the keynote address, I presented on my favorite topic, "leadership".  I conducted three continuous leadership workshops teaching participants how to recognize their own leadershipship styles and the leadership styles of others.  I shared how this process helped me in school, at work, and even in my marriage.  To all the NORTHS, thank you for taking action; to all the SOUTHS, thank you for caring; to all the EASTS, thank you for your creativity; and to all the WESTS, thank you for keeping me on task!

This was a great event and I hope to continue to work with this group again in the near future!

Keynote Speaker at National University Academy High School Graduation!

Congrats to the NUA Class of 2011 for completing high school and deciding to imagine their "What If"!

My message was about "What If".  Most of the time when we use those words we are talking negative or have a lack faith that things will turn around in our lives; but, today I encouraged all who would listen to turn their "What If" around to the positive aspects of life...what if you graduate from high school, what if you graduate from college, what if you get that promotion you have always wanted, what if you meet the person of your dreams.  What if...what if...what if.

I was spitting so much fire in that place I thought the walls were going to fall down!  When you do what you love time stands still!  If you are looking for a speaker whose words transform the hearts and minds of others I'm the guy!

Spoke to the Inmates at Donovan State Prison!

Wow...today I was blessed with the opportunity to preach in the yard at Donovan State Prison with my pastor, Sergio De La Mora.  It was amazing to be in the middle of a prison yard and have an opportunity to speak a word of life into some of the inmates.  For the short time we were there we laughed, we cried, and we motivated each other to keep on moving on.  I told them that it does not matter what you did in the past...what matters at this point in their life is where they are going!  I challenged them to live, love, and lead from their heart!  Powerful stuff...thank you Pastor Sergio for being my dream releaser!  When I look at the choices I made in life I'm so blessed that my choices never put me in prison!  It's nothing nice!  Live your life and dream your dream...cheering you on!
