The California Wellness Foundation Teen Pregnancy Prevention Conference in San Francisco

Enjoyed my time in San Francisco for the California Wellness Foundation Teen Pregnancy Prevention Conference in San Francisco.  Spent a day and a half working with teen pregnancy prevention professionals throughout the state of California.  I saw many old friends and met some new ones committed to this much needed and valued work.  Many thanks to Julio Marcial and the Wellness Foundation for believing in the work we do.

As I get ready to go back to San Diego I'm inspired to bring back Fatherhood Is Forever, a program geared to support teen fathers and teach them how to become great dads and husbands!  Great fathers are hard to come by and much work is needed throughout this world in raising quality men to take responsibilities for their actions and leading their families!

For anyone interested, I have a keynote address called "Fatherhood Is Forever - Fathering a Fatherless Generation!"  It's very powerful!

Kuddos to Principal Derek Murchison and Adams Elementary!

On Friday I was honored to be the keynote speaker to students in grades 2 through 5 at Adams Elementary under the San Diego Unified School District.  This special assembly was put together to encourage the students to do well on their upcoming statewide testing.

I talked about "The Me I See...Is the Me I Will Be!"  Who you see yourself in life is what you will become.  I encouraged the students by teaching them the method of power talk or talking into existence those things that they want to see happen in their lives.  Instead of talking negative, talk positive, speak life over yourself and your situation.  I reminded them that each of them is great, amazing, and uniquely designed for success.

I am confident that every student that I came in contact with will do their best on the test, but, more importantly, I believe that each student learned something more about winning in life and becoming the best that they can be despite the negative circumstances around them!

Many thanks to the Principal, Mr. Derek Murchison who has risen to the challenge to live, love, and lead from his heart!  Go Tigers!

    Institute of The Americas Presentation

Much thanks to the Institute of The Americas organization from La Jolla, CA. for having me speak to over 20 dignitaries throughout Latin America at Turning the Hearts Center.

I shared about the three chairs every young person sits in: the chair of the quitter, the chair of the camper, and the chair of the climber! The methods and techniques cross international boundaries and gave participants hope and encouragement with the work they are doing throughout their home countries.  We are already working on a video clip to share with others shortly!  Viva dougluff.com!

    Camp Marston YMCA Leadership Keynote

Last weekend I had the pleasure at speaking at Camp Marston YMCA Leadership Weekend in Julian.  For this trip I took my two older daughters, Makenna and Micaela.  The folks at the Y wanted me to give my signature keynote called The P.O.W.E.R. of Leadership.  I inspired them to realize that when you know your purpose, become an opportunity chaser, be willing to go solo, maintain an enthusiastic spirit, and become a relationship builder that you will reach your destiny in life and go to the next level.

After the presentation we stayed and participated with the group for the entire day.  It was great to also spend time with the girls and see them climb the 50 foot rock climbing wall, teach them how to shoot a bow and arrow, watch them learn how to paddle on a canoe, and shoot a BB gun.  Great times and looking forward to continuing my long lasting relationship with the San Diego County YMCA.  Thanks Simon for having me at Camp Marston.
